In “ONLY” the case of a purchase would a survey be required to be submitted to us unless a Lender requires you obtain one. We can order a survey for you, or you can order one yourself from the surveyor of your choice. In some cases an old survey may be accepted as long as its within 10 years. Surveys older than 10 years will be considered on a case by case basis. In this case we would have the prior owner sign a “Survey Affidavit of No Change” at closing. If a change has occurred a new survey may still be required. In the event a survey is not obtained for an owners policy the insured must be aware that the insurance is then limited.
